FAQ EP.7: Can I Join Songkran After a Fresh Piercing?
April 9th, 2026
3 Things to Watch Out For Before Diving into the Splash. 💦

Just got your ears pierced less than a month ago, You’re probably wondering: “Can I still join the Songkran fun?” 🤔
While we usually recommend keeping fresh piercings dry, we know the Songkran spirit is hard to resist! If you’re planing to head out, here are 3 essential tips to keep your piercing safe while you celebrate. 💦
1. Beware of Contaminated Water 🦠
The water splashed during the festival isn’t always tap-filtered. It can carry hidden bacteria or dust, significantly increasing the risk of infection.
💡Pro Tip: Try to avoid direct “splashes” to the ear and keep your piercing as dry as possible!
2. Watch Out for “Crowd Contact” 🏃♀️
Festivals mean crowds, and crowds mean accidental bumps. A stray hand or a snag on someone’s clothing can irritate your healing skin or even cause a tear.
💡Pro Tip: Stay mindful of your surroundings and avoid high-density areas where you might get shoved.
3. Beat the Heat & Humidity ☀️
Thailand’s April heat is no joke! Excessive sweating creates a damp environment around your piercing, which is a playground for bacteria.
💡Pro Tip: Keep a clean tissue or gauze handy to gently pat the area dry throughout the day.
Better Safe Than Sorry! 💖
Ideally, we recommend letting your piercing heal completely before a full soak. It’s the fastest way to a beautiful, healthy result.
But if you’ve already joined the fun, make sure to clean your piercing immediately afterward! Use a saline solution to rinse away any impurities and ensure the area is thoroughly dried. ✨
