Wearing the piercing earrings continuously for at least 6 weeks with proper care is recommended to ensure proper healing. After this time, you can switch to other post-type earrings. However, since it may take up to 5-6 months for the piercing to fully heal, it is advisable always to wear earrings and not leave the hole empty for too long to prevent it from closing.

Upper lobe
According to its name, the upper lobe position is located above the standard lobe. It is sometimes referred to as the 2nd or 3rd position depending on the number of piercings. If you enjoy having multiple earrings and like to experiment with different combinations, consider getting a piercing in this position. The aftercare process for an upper lobe piercing is similar to a standard one.

Helix
The helix refers to the cartilage on the edge of the ear, which is a favored position for piercing due to its stylish appearance and cool look. However, cartilage is a very sensitive part of the ear and can easily become inflamed. Therefore, if you decide to get a piercing in this position, it is recommended to continuously wear the piercing earring for at least 12 weeks with proper aftercare, as it can take 8-12 months to heal fully.
If you are not confident in your ability to care for cartilage piercing for that long, consider trying ear cuffs as an alternative. Then, once you are ready, you can opt for a cartilage piercing.
